The other way to help you boost sales and client retention in the year ahead is to consider the following:

  1. Identify bad clients and get rid of them! Easier said than done, but if you discipline yourself to identify them before engaging with them, you’ll enable more time for great clients.
  2. Plan to meet with the CEOs/leadership of your top clients and just listen. Hear what they have to say and then present solutions.
  3. Calculate the customer lifetime value of your clients. This metric will help you determine how valuable a client is to your organization.
  4. Remind yourself that customer service is just a component of customer success.
  5. Another important reminder: Sales success doesn’t equal customer success.
