This is the first issue of my “To Your Success” newsletter where I discuss all things “customer success” related, including how to increase Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and generate more revenue for your business.

The “Great Reshuffle” is upon us, and executives and employees alike are trying to figure out how to work more effectively in an environment that poses challenges and opportunities.

The question I have for you is this: How are you engaging with your customers at this very moment in time? Let’s put you in your clients’ shoes and think about their perception of your business and the quality of the products and services you provide.

It can be scary and anxiety inducing, but I will tell you this: The more you can anticipate the needs and wants of your clients, engage with them on these topics proactively, and adapt your services, the happier your customers will be, which will feed the long-term success of your business.

I’m in the business of generating revenues for my client companies by improving customer success, operations, and technology to engage, retain, and grow long-term customer relationships.

Following are four action items to consider right now:

  • Meet (online or in person) with your customers to learn about their goals in 2022 and beyond. Don’t sell anything. Just listen …
  • Learn about your customers’ pains and needs above and beyond the product and services you offer. It might be a great chance for your team to enhance your services or to partner up with a team to support your customers’ needs.
  • Let your customers know you want them to succeed. I know it sounds obvious, but it always helps to know the people you work with are true advocates and align with your success.
  • Be realistic. Under promise and over deliver. Our economy is in transition right now, so make sure you can deliver on what you’re selling to your customers.

One final piece of advice, please take a read of my recent blog post on understanding the significant gap between sales success and customer success. It will get wider unless companies do something about it.

And finally, I will be hosting a webinar on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at noon PT on best practices from a customer success perspective, so please save the date!

As always, feel free to reach out if I can be of any assistance to you or your clients.

To your success,
